In Namibia, Namibia Economist reported that the Namibian government has reaffirmed its support for the green hydrogen sector, designating the Hyphen Hydrogen Energy project as the primary strategic engine for the nation’s industrial future.

Vice President, Lucia Witbooi, characterized the Hyphen initiative not merely as a standalone venture, but as the “flagship project” and a critical catalyst for the country’s emerging energy economy.

The project’s implementation is structured as a public-private partnership, with the government holding a strategic 24% interest.

She encouraged Namibian businesses to actively engage with Hyphen, noting Hyphen’s efforts to develop a comprehensive database of Namibian suppliers and to support the growth of domestic enterprises.
