Mitsubishi Gas Chemical signs Odisha green methanol deal with ACME
In Japan , IBT reported that Mitsubishi Gas Chemical said that it had signed an agreement with India’s ACME Group to purchase green methanol, securing annual offtake of about 100,000 metric tons from a project in Odisha state, in India, from 2030.
Mitsubishi Gas Chemical will become a major offtaker from the green methanol project ACME is developing in Odisha, where a plant is scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2030. The contract is a long-term purchase agreement for green methanol, according to the report.
The report noted that ACME Group is expanding renewable energy businesses in India. The group has already started operating an integrated green hydrogen and ammonia pilot plant in Rajasthan and is also pursuing commercial green ammonia production projects in Oman and in Odisha.
