Mass DEP grants air permit to controversial biomass power plant

In Massachusetts, the state’s Department of Environmental Protection has granted an air permit to Palmer Renewable Energy despite complaints by local environmental organizations regarding air quality concerns and the recent denial of construction permits by Springfield’s Zoning Board of Appeals.
