Manitoba’s conservative party promises to double biodiesel blending if reelected
In Canada, Real Agriculture reports that Manitoba’s conservative party led by the current premier has pledged to double biodiesel blending in the province to 10% if reelected in two weeks. Currently the plan is for between 2% and 5% in 2020. With the higher blend, biodiesel demand would reach 76 million liters per year from the current 27 million liters, meaning a big boon for the province’s canola farmers, but even more impressive, ethanol would also increase to 176 million liters from the current 26 million liters.
