Kamei supplies 100% HVO from Euglena in Japan’s first ship-to-ship biofuel fueling
In Japan, Kamei Corporation has started supplying 100% HVO developed by Euglena Co., Ltd., which is the first ship to ship fueling of the kind in Japan. The ship-to-ship system is to supply HVOs directly from fuel-supply ships in the port to ships, thereby reducing the burden on land-based equipment and improving the flexibility of supply, as well as contributing to the promotion of decarbonization of the entire port area. This is the first example of HVO in Japan.
In collaboration with Euglena, Chubu Electric Power will build a stable supply system for “Sussate” and accumulate operational know-how through this demonstration, and will identify issues and verify technologies for full-scale future development. We will continue to promote sustainable energy supply initiatives, including HVO, in order to contribute to the expansion of the spread of renewable energy and the realization of a carbon-neutral society.
