JFE Engineering, partners open 112-MW biomass-fired power plant in Japan
In Bulgaria, Renewables Now reported that JFE Engineering, part of JFE Holdings, together with its partners, has put into operation a 112-MW biomass-fired power plant in Japan’s Aichi Prefecture.
Leasing company Tokyo Century, Japanese utilities Chubu Electric Power and Toho Gas Co. are the other companies involved in the Tahara Biomass Power Plant, according to the report.
Located in Tahara City, the new renewable energy asset is expected to generate about 770 million kWh annually from wood pellets, enough to meet the demand of approximately 250,000 households, it added.
