Indonesia says biodiesel program supports palm oil sector
In Indonesia, Palm Oil Magazine reports the government said its biodiesel program continues to strengthen the domestic palm oil industry by increasing demand without reducing export competitiveness or disrupting cooking oil supplies. The Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) also finances cooking oil subsidies, research, workforce development, scholarships, and the Smallholder Palm Oil Replanting (PSR) program. While officials acknowledged the replanting initiative continues to face administrative and implementation challenges, they said efforts are underway to accelerate progress and improve execution as part of the country’s broader palm oil development strategy.
