In Indonesia, Hydrocarbon Processing reports the country has consumed 3.4 billion liters of biodiesel under its current 40% blending mandate so far during this year, with the mandate set to rise to 50% on July 1, during which time there will be a three month transition period. Before the B50 mandate was set, the forecast for this year’s consumption was 15.65 billion liters. The government has been testing B50 on different vehicles to ensure that water content stays below 300ppm as high water content negatively impacts performance.
