Indonesia confirms B50 roll out on July 1 following positive engine test results
In Indonesia, Reuters reports that the country will roll out its 50% blending mandate on July 1 as planned after fuel test results released last week showed positive results. Rolling out B50 is meant to reduce, and potentially eliminate, fossil diesel imports, with the B40 during H1 and B50 during H2 expected to reduce import costs by $8.89 billion. Higher crude oil prices due to geopolitical instability in the Straight of Hormuz has lowered the required subsidy for the higher blending level, ensuring the mandate can go through as planned.
