Indian Sugar Mills Association wants increase in ethanol prices
In India, the Hindu Business Line reports the Indian Sugar Mills Association is asking the government to consider raising prices for sugarcane-based and B-heavy molasses-based ethanol to help ensure farmers get paid on time while achieving viability for the sector. Prices for ethanol from those feedstocks haven’t been raised in two years. C-heavy molasses-based ethanol saw a 3% increased approved last week. ISMA said its members have the financial ability to build up more production capacity for ethanol.
