Indian OMCs seek to buy 1.1B liters of FCI rice-based ethanol
In India, the Hindu Business Line newspaper reports oil marketing companies have issued a purchase tender to buy 1.1 billion liters of ethanol exclusively made from rice purchased from the Food Corporation of India. Earlier this month, the government made available a quota of 2.4 million metric tons of old rice from government stores for use as ethanol feedstock.
PSU Watch reports that OMCs achieved 18.2% ethanol blending in December, up from 16.1% in October.
