Indian OMCs launch ethanol tender with only C-heavy molasses, damaged food grains and corn as feedstocks
In India, the Hindu Business Line newspaper reports that Oil Marketing Companies have opened their first procurement tender since the government halted most ethanol production from sugarcane juice and B-heavy molasses. The tender doesn’t permit the inclusion of those types of ethanol for its 2.67 billion liter tender. The tender is to supply ethanol between Feb. 1 and the end of the current ethanol marketing year on October 31. C-heavy molasses, damaged food grains such as rice, and corn are the feedstocks allowed to be supplied for the rest of the marketing year.
