Indian ethanol industries begging government to boost blending to 27%

In India, the Financial Express reports that as the ethanol production boom hits the 20% blend wall, leaving distillers across the country with too much capacity underutilized, the sugar industry is seeking a boost to 27% ethanol blending to help absorb those extra supplies. Grain-based ethanol producers have already requested the government boost the blending mandate. The ethanol industry offered 17.7 billion liters of ethanol for the 2025/26 blending year against just over 10 billion liters of demand from oil marketing companies.
