India Supreme Court rejects ethanol disclosure plea
In India, the Times of India reports India’s Supreme Court declined to entertain a petition seeking mandatory disclosure of ethanol content at petrol pumps and on fuel receipts. The petition also sought a vehicle-by-vehicle database showing compatibility with different ethanol blends, an expert review of E20’s effects on fuel efficiency and vehicle durability, and a transition framework for older or incompatible vehicles. A bench of Justices M.M. Sundresh and P.B. Varale dismissed the plea but allowed the petitioner to approach the relevant high court, leaving current fuel-labeling requirements unchanged.
