India looking to quickly ramp up flex fuel vehicles
In India, the Economic Times reports the government is exploring the potential ramp up of flex fuel vehicles in light of fuel price volatility resulting from the war in the Middle East. Mills currently produce nearly double the volume required for the 20% blending mandate and they are asking the government to push it to 22%. Moving to E85 with flex fuel vehicles could quickly boost demand significantly. A petroleum ministry working group met on Monday and will soon present those findings to automobile manufacturers, oil marketing companies and other ministries.
