India looking at 10% isobutanol blend in diesel
In India, the Press Trust of India reports that Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari has his eye on a 10% isobutanol blend with biodiesel to move forward with decarbonization for diesel when biodiesel hasn’t really kicked off in the country. India’s diesel consumption is nearly triple that of its gasoline consumption, providing an even larger market for blending with diesel than ethanol has done with gasoline. Surplus grains are expected to provide feedstock for the isobutanol once the policy proposal has been approved by the cabinet.
