April 22, 2026 |

In India, the Hindustan Times newspaper reports the third major biofuels policy announcement this week with the government approving the use of ethanol and other synthetic fuels for blending with aviation fuel. The aviation fuel regulations were updated by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas but did not include a specific blending target although it has said in the past that it aims to comply with CORSIA targets beginning with 1% SAF blending by 2027 and reaching 5% by 2030.
