Hydrogen Utopia secures UK license for waste-plastic-to-SAF technology
In the UK, Fuel Cells Works reported that Hydrogen Utopia International (HUI) a company transforming non-recyclable waste plastic into hydrogen, clean fuels and advanced materials, announced that it has secured a license from InEnTec to deploy its PEM (Plasma Enhanced Melter) gasification technology for sustainable aviation fuel production, across the United Kingdom, for a total consideration of $500,000.
The UK license agreement grants HUI rights to build, operate and scale PEM Melter systems throughout the UK, converting non-recyclable mixed waste plastics, tyres and other hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams into clean syngas, a building block for SAF production, according to the report.
Aleksandra Binkowska, Chief Executive Officer of HUI, said: ” This positions us well for expansion into the UK, where the government is actively supporting the sustainable aviation fuel market. We expect to now accelerate our UK operation as we engage with feedstock suppliers, off take agreements and finalize discussions on location for the SAF facility.”
