GranBio to invest in SAF production in Brazil
In Brazil, Jornal Cana reported that GranBio seeks to promote the use of energy cane for the production of sustainable aviation fuel in Brazil.
Bernardo Gradin , CEO of the company, stated that they are developing a comprehensive model for a biorefinery that integrates sugarcane with energy as well as with ethanol to produce SAF.
The firm aims to build a demonstration plant capable of producing 3 million liters of SAF annually, using wood chips and sugarcane waste as raw material. The total investment for this project will be $220 million, according to the report.
The plant will produce SAF, green diesel and green naphtha.
