Gevo Inc. awarded U.S. Patent for its Integrated Fermentation TechnologyR

In Colorado, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has awarded Gevo Inc. with U.S. Patent No. 8,283,505 to protect its Integrated Fermentation TechnologyR (GIFTR ). The newly patented technology comprises a proprietary separation unit designed to enable the cost-efficient separation of isobutanol from other fermentation broth components. GIFTR is currently the most cost-efficient separation technology available and allows for the continuous removal of isobutanol as it is formed in the fermentation broth.
