German biodiesel trade picking up speed
In Germany, German foreign trade in biodiesel is picking up some momentum in 2026. Both exports and imports are gaining momentum. The Netherlands remains the focal point with the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
According to the Federal Statistical Office, a rising foreign trade in biodiesel is looming for the year 2026. In the first half of the year, exports increased by 3.4% to 1.4 million tonnes of biodiesel compared with the same period last year. The same was the increase in imports. From abroad, the Federal Republic of Germany received 851,200 tonnes, around 3.5% more than a year earlier. The main trading partner remains the Netherlands.
