FUEL ethanol subsidiary files for bankruptcy in Georgia

In Georgia, Southwest Georgia LLC, a subsidiary of FUEL who had recently received notice of default on its $14.8 million loans and lines of credit from WestLB, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Fluctuating corn prices and delayed corn shipments squeezed the company’s financial capacity, leading to insolvency.
