Evos Rotterdam expanding storage for biomethanol and bioethanol

March 16, 2026 |

In the Netherlands, Evos Rotterdam is expanding its terminal in Europoort (21 tanks, approx. 260,000 m³) with five storage tanks (total 67,500 m³) for (bio)methanol and (bio)ethanol. An additional inland shipping berth is required to facilitate the extra transhipment. The expansion will contribute to Rotterdam’s position as a bunker port and industrial hub for methanol and ethanol.

An additional inland shipping berth is required for the expansion of the Evos Rotterdam terminal. The new quay will be constructed by the Port of Rotterdam Authority so that the infrastructure can handle further growth. The quay, including shore power, is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2028. This expansion will enable Evos to increase its activities and facilitate the growing demand for storage and bunkering of (bio)methanol.
