European biofuel feedstock prices rise as gasoil weakens
In the Netherlands, Fastmarkets reports European biofuel feedstock markets strengthened sharply as declining gasoil prices widened key feedstock-to-fuel spreads. Rapeseed oil recorded the largest increase, supported by limited old-crop supplies and strong demand for prompt deliveries. Palm oil and soybean oil spreads also widened as feedstock values remained firm despite weaker fuel markets. In the biodiesel sector, the margin between used cooking oil methyl ester (UCOME) and used cooking oil expanded as biodiesel prices rose faster than feedstock costs. Tight spot availability and continued demand for European-origin materials helped support prices across the renewable fuels market.
