Ethanol production drops further to lowest production since late January
In Washington, Brownfield Energy News reports U.S. ethanol production averaged 1.009 million barrels per day, the lowest level since late January, down 31,000 from both the previous week and a year earlier. Despite the dip, corn demand for ethanol remains strong and overall demand signals are positive. Ethanol stocks fell to 25.881 million barrels, the lowest since early March, though still slightly above last year. Refiners’ ethanol inputs edged lower, while gasoline supply increased modestly. Meanwhile, ethanol exports rose to 170,000 barrels per day, up significantly from both the prior week and the same period last year.
