ETFuels chooses Humber site for UK e-SAF project using US e-methanol
In the UK, GasWorld reported that Ireland-headquartered e-fuels developer ETFuels (ETF) has selected the Humber’s Port of Immingham for its 35,000-ton UK green hydrogen-based sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) project.
The methanol-to-jet facility will be sited on Kings Road and will use green methanol produced at its planned facility in Texas as a feedstock, according to the report.
ETF expects an investment of $672 million in the project, with a final investment decision (FID) targeted for 2027 and production by 2030.
The company’s project in Texas is designed to produce up to 120,000 tons of e-methanol per year, using 210M of John Cockerill electrolyzers and e-methanol technology and synthesis catalysts from Johnson Matthey.
The US site could reach final investment decision before the end of 2026.
