Engie teams with French vegetable producer to set up biomethane and CO2 capture

February 26, 2026 |

In France, Les Echos reports the French producer group Cerafel, which markets its vegetables under the Prince of Brittany brand, is setting up with Engie a local biogenic CO2 sector derived from agricultural methanization.

From 2026, two units operated by Engie in Ploufragan, Côtes-d’Armor, and Noyal-Pontivy, Morbihan, will capture the CO2 generated during biomethane production. The gas will be purified at a purity level above 99%, liquefied and then transported by truck to greenhouse farms.
