Delta Airlines backs away from SAF goals as lack of policy support leads to slow industry uptake

In Georgia, Bloomberg reports Delta Airlines has quietly shifted its ambitious climate goals of 10% sustainable aviation fuel by 2030 and net zero by 2050 to an aspiration rather than a goal as such. While the Biden Administration was a vocal supporter of SAF, the same hasn’t been for the Trump Administration which has led to slow uptake amongst the industry and Delta’s subsequent softening of its goals. The company still sees SAF as a key way to decarbonize flight.
