Cork commuter trains to trial HVO
In Ireland, RTE reports the national train line Iarnrod Eireann has kicked off a 12-16 week pilot program that will trial the use of Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil in commuter trains around Cork. The trial will use about 100,000 liters of HVO between now and June when the trial ends. The company already uses HVO100 for all of its track maintenance equipment and is hoping to expand the fuel’s use further into the fleet should this trial be successful.
