China marine ammonia fuel systems factory set for September startup
In China, Jiangsu Langhua Ship Equipment expects to begin production in September at a new factory making ammonia fuel-supply equipment for marine engine conversions. The project in Yufang Town, Jiangsu province, has entered the exterior-finishing and equipment-commissioning stages.
Construction began in June 2025 on 3.8 acres of reused industrial land. Langhua built four workshops and plans to install more than 10 vertical three-axis machining centers and over 30 sets of assembly equipment for complete ammonia fuel-supply systems.
The company has begun producing components for the ammonia fuel-supply systems and plans to ramp up production of complete units after the factory opens. At full production, the factory is expected to generate about $22 million in annual sales. Langhua has formed a research and development team and is pursuing joint ventures to support the business.
