China Biological Engineering invests in Phyco; two algal biofuels trials in China
In China, Phyco’s Super Trough System has been selected by China Biological Engineering to license the production technology for two projects beginning in November. The first project is a 40-acre joint venture in JaingShu Province, while the second project comprises 10 acres in Shangdong Province. Both are planned to scale to 160 acres in 2011-2012.
Phyco will own a 15% interest in each joint venture and will generate fees for components and services. China Biological Engineering Limited has also purchased an 18% equity stake in Phyco BioSciences.
