CBL profit rebounds with biofuels in the mix
In Malaysia, CBL International returned to profit in the first half of 2026, earning about $1.5 million on $395.6 million in revenue, up 49% from a year earlier, and highlighted biofuels as a growing part of its marine fuel business. Sales volume rose 10.9% and gross profit more than doubled to $6.5 million.
CBL said its April purchase of a 50.5% stake in Green Marine Energy Holdings added sustainable feedstock distribution and licensed physical bunkering of conventional fuels and biofuels in Malaysian waters.
“The acquisition of a majority stake in Green Marine further positions us upstream in the sustainable fuel value chain and strengthens our physical bunker capabilities in Malaysia,” Chairman and CEO Teck Lim Chia said. CBL plans to scale biofuel offerings and explore LNG and methanol solutions through the Green Marine platform.
