Cargill buys 3 biodiesel plants and 4 storage facilities from Granol in Brazil

In Brazil, Bloomberg reports that Cargill has agreed to buy three biodiesel plants in Anápolis (GO), Porto Nacional (TO) and Cachoeira do Sul (RS) and four storage facilities in the states of Goiás and Tocantins from the country’s largest biodiesel producer, Granol, a deal that is waiting for approval from antitrust authorities. The terms of the deal were not released but the move demonstrates Cargill’s view of the country’s importance in the global biodiesel sector.
