Canadian canola demand seen soaring thanks to renewable diesel production
In Canada, the Alberta Farm Express reports the national canola association expects renewable diesel production to soar domestically, significantly increasing demand for canola. It expects production to reach 1 billion liters by 2024, doubling the year after before reaching more than doubling again to 4.5 billion liters in 2027. Crushing capacity will need to increase by 50% from the current installed capacity in order to service the demand, crushing 6 million metric tons of canola annually.
