BSR and SDIC Biotech explore ethanol cooperation
In Vietnam, the Investor reports Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical (BSR) is exploring long-term ethanol supply cooperation with China’s SDIC Biotech as Vietnam’s nationwide E10 rollout drives demand. Ethanol consumption is estimated at 80,000–100,000 cubic meters per month, while domestic production capacity is only about 25,000 cubic meters, leaving a roughly 75,000-cubic-meter monthly shortfall to imports. BSR expects to need 9,000–11,000 cubic meters monthly for E10 at its Dung Quat refinery. The companies also discussed second-generation ethanol, SAF, green methanol, technology transfer and emissions-reduction solutions.
