Bridgeport Ethanol surviving thanks to DDGS, but just barely
In Nebraska, Bridgeport Ethanol says it has fared the high prices of corn better than its Midwest brethren because it is co-located near to its primary market for DDGS rather than close to its corn supply. About 90% of the ethanol production goes to blending on the West Coast. Despite being better off thanks to its business model, it is still having a hard time and reported a net loss in 2012.
