Brazilian hydrous ethanol sales continue to soar in December
In Brazil, hydrous ethanol continues to take center stage with UNICA reporting that December sales reached 1.40 billion liters, up more than 8% over last year, while anhydrous sales reached 935.81 million liters, more than 16% higher than December 2014. That boost in sales is despite higher prices from increased demand weighing on pump sales, where the price ratio with gasoline remains above the 70% threshold. Total ethanol sales for the 2015/16 crush through Jan. 1 was 22.89 billion liters, nearly 24% higher than the same period during 2014/15.
