Brazilian hydrous ethanol prices fall 14% from record highs as production ramps up
In Brazil, Platts reports that hydrous ethanol prices have fallen nearly 14% from a record high the week before as the sugarcane crush kicks off in earnest following several weeks of wet weather that has stymied the ability of harvesters to get into field and take out the awaiting cane. Typically, early-harvest cane goes predominantly towards ethanol production and this season is no different, even if UNICA’s crush numbers less week were lower than expected.
