Brazilian biodiesel auction sells 1.14 billion liters at under 70 cents per liter

In Brazil, Renewables Now reports that the ANP energy regulator’s most recent biodiesel auction to secure fuel for the national 11% blending mandate saw 1.14 billion liters of biodiesel sold at an average price of under 70 cents per liter. The total volume of fuel contracted was worth about $804 million, of which 99.74% had the social seal. Of the total, 1.136 billion liters with 100% social seal certifications were sold during the first day and the remaining volume was sold during the second day. The fuel will be used for blending between September 1 and October 31.
