Brazilian April ethanol imports at 11-month high of 230.7 million liters
In Brazil, Platts reports that ethanol imports in April were at the highest levels seen in 11 months, totaling 230.7 million liters. The figure is more than 40% higher than during April 2018 but it was about 107% higher than in March. Total imports for the year through April reflect the similar trend of lower imports overall with a total of 626.9 million liters, 40% less than during the first four months of 2019. Nearly 70% of the imports through April entered through the North-Northeast region but in early May ethanol prices have started to fall.
