Brazilian anhydrous ethanol production picks up in H2 May
In Brazil, Platts reports UNICA data shows the ratio of anhydrous ethanol production compared to hydrous production increased to just over 40% during the last half of May compared to just over 33% during the first half of the month due to increased demand in the Center-South and North-Northeast regions. With the hydrous to gasoline ratio above 75%, the expectation is that drivers will choose to fill up with gasoline blended with anhydrous ethanol rather than pure hydrous ethanol for the near term.
