Brazil expects record soybean production, exports

March 30, 2026 |

In Brazil, World Grain reported that Brazil is expected to set new records in soybean production, reaching a new high for the third consecutive year, and in exports for 2026-27.

Production is estimated at 184 million tons, representing a 3.3% increase from the 2025-26 estimate of 178 million tons, according to a report from the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the US Department of Agriculture.

“While the increase is partly driven by projected area expansion, it can also be attributed to improved cultivation practices, such as greater adoption of no-till farming and better resource management, as well as investments in technology and machinery made in prior seasons,” the FAS said.

Exports are estimated at 117.5 million tons, an increase of 3.9% compared to 2025-26. The increase is driven by available supply and steady demand from China, the FAS said. The recent strengthening of the Brazilian real against the US dollar may moderate export growth, it said.
