November 3, 2026 |

In Washington state, Carbon Herald reports Northwest Advanced Bio-Fuels (NWABF) has entered a strategic funding partnership with private equity firm Black Gold Equity to advance a proposed $3 billion woody-biomass-to-sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) refinery. The partnership is intended to support project development and financing for a facility designed to convert woody biomass into lower-carbon aviation fuel. The announcement represents a significant funding-development step, but the available report does not establish that the full investment has been committed, that construction has begun or that a final investment decision has been reached.
