Biofuels Digest Index up 1.65 percent to 81.32 as ethanol equities surge

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, jumped 1.65 percent to 81.32 as ethanol equities surged. For the day, Biofuel Energy (BIOF) soared 21.01 percent to $4.11, while Aemetis (AMTX) climbed 8.51 percent to $0.51. Among other equities, Amyris (AMRS) rebounded 5.76 percent to $4.04. Overall, advances led declines 9 to 7 for the day.
