Biofuels Digest Index rallies to 70.59 as ethanol equities soar

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, rallied 1.26 percent to 70.59 as ethanol equities soared. For the day, Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) gained 7.67 percent to $7.16, while Aemetis (AMTX) jumped 7.69 percent to $0.28. Among other equities, Biofuel Energy (BIOF) was up 3.37 percent to $1.84. Overall, advances led declines 3 to 1 for the day.
