Biofuels Digest Index jumps to 69.00 as large caps surge

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, jumped 1.22 percent to 69.00 as large caps surged. For the day, Syngenta (SYT) rocketed up 13.37 percent to $85.75 on a takeover bid from Monsanto (MON), while Amyris (AMRS) slumped 8.97 percent to $2.03. Among other equities, Ceres (CERE) dumped 7.15 percent to $2.54. Overall, advances led declines by a 7 to 3 ratio for the day.
