Biofuels Digest Index jumps to 68.89 on advanced biofuels surge

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, jumped 1.41 percent to 68.89 as advanced biofuels surged. For the day, Solazyme (SYYM) rocketed up 23.50 percent to $3.95 on news of expansion into the Middle East, while Amyris (AMRS) settled 2.75 percent to $2.48. Among other equities, Biox (BX.T) soared 22.50 percent to $0.49. Overall, advances  led declines by a 3 to 2 ratio for the day.
