Biofuels Digest Index gains to 71.00 as ethanol equities soar

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, gained 0.91 percent to 71.00 as ethanol equities soared. For the day, Biofuel Energy (BIOF) soared 25.84 percent to $2.24, while Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) climbed 9.23 percent to $5.56. Among other equities, Sacom (SAM.MI) fell 6.06 percent to $6.97. Overall, advances led declines 3 to 2 for the day.
