Biofuels Digest Index drops to 66.35 as ethanol equities fall

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, dropped 0.67 percent to 66.35 as ethanol equities fell. For the day, Ceres (CERE) settled back 12.38 percent to $1.84, while Biofuels Energy (BIOF) plunged 17.90 percent to $2.66 as takeover news appeared. Among other equities, Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE) gained 5.72 percent to $15.72. Overall, declines led advances 9 to 7 for the day.
