Biocomposite stand up in testing for tractor parts
In Canada, the Winnipeg Free Press reports that the Composites Innovation Centre is making progress with biocomposites. According to the article, Buhler Industries conducted testing on their Versatile tractors during a Manitoba harvest.
The biocomposites were used in bumpers, a fan intake part and the hood, and reportedly held up just as well as traditional fiberglass laden parts. The fibers used were sourced from a courser agave fiber, combined with hemp.
